Happy Valentine’s Month!
Love can mean many things to people; for my husband and me food = love. There’s an emotional connection we feel when we share a delicious meal with a loved one. Our ultimate guide for a progressive Valentine’s dinner would take us to some of our favorite places in downtown Pensacola.
We would start with a pre-dinner cocktail at The Kennedy. My husband would have a classic sazerac, and I might try the carnaval for a little tiki-vibe. After our early libation, we would stroll south on Palafox down to Jaco’s to watch a picture-perfect Pensacola sunset on the bay while nibbling on a shared appetizer of their Baltimore crab cakes or maybe we’d go extra light with shrimp lettuce wraps. After the sun dipped down, we would walk back up Palafox for another small bite at Jackson’s. I love the romantic atmosphere there. And their mullet dip and blue crab beignets are outstanding. For our main course, if it’s a colder evening we’d nosh at Khon’s savoring Dot’s ramen. If it’s a balmy Florida night, I might prefer the artisan or spider rolls at nom sushi izakaya. For the sweet portion of our gastronomic extravaganza, I envision us sharing the delectable s’mores at Pot Roast and Pinot. To cap off our mouthwatering evening, we would finish the night at O’Riley’s Pub with an Irish coffee. Perfect ending for a perfect night.
